As a part of the 2024 Public Power Week celebration, GPA once again served as a proud sponsor for the Special Olympics Guam (SOGU) 2024 Softball Championship Jamboree for the second consecutive year. The event was held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Dededo Softball Field.

GPA General Manager, John M. Benavente, P.E. delivered remarks during the Opening Ceremony to kick off the celebration. Throughout the games, GPA employees were present to cheer on the athletes and offer encouragement.

During the awards ceremony, GPA Assistant General Manager of Administration (AGMA) Ms. Tricee Limtiaco and GPA Assistant General Manager of Operations (AGMO) Ms. Jennifer Sablan, P.E. along with the support of GPA employees presented medals to the athletes.

Additionally, leading up to the event GPA employees and SOGU coaches volunteered their time at weekly Saturday practices to prepare SOGU athletes for the Championship Jamboree.

This year, two GPA employees took on the role as a team coach. Jarred Alerta, Safety Inspector I volunteered as coach for The Blue Dragons and Jamie Pinaula, Customer Service Supervisor volunteered as coach for The Angels.
