GPA was invited to participate at Inalåhan Elementary School’s Career Day on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The GPA presentation was divided into two parts: an indoor classroom-style presentation followed by an outdoor static display and bucket truck demonstration.
During the indoor session, the GPA Communications Team opened the presentation by highlighting the various careers, internships, and apprenticeship programs available at GPA.
This was followed by a presentation from Jezreel Sabangan, Engineer II, and Marc Bituin, Engineer II, who showcased tools and materials used by engineers, explained different engineering fields, and engaged students with a fun and interactive Q&A.
The indoor presentation concluded with the Generation team, led by Tony Terlaje, Plant Maintenance Mechanic Leader, and Carl Tainatongo, Plant Electrician II. They provided students with insight into careers in Generation, discussed their job-related safety personal protective equipment (PPE) and gave students the opportunity to see and handle the PPE gear firsthand. The team also explained how power is generated at the power plants and delivered to homes.
The second portion of the presentation was held outdoors in the school lot, where students learned about careers as a lineworker. The T&D lineworker team, led by Kyle Siguenza. Line Electrician Supervisor along with Jacob Gumataotao, Line Electrician Leader; Shaun Taitano, Line Electrician Leader; Darren Dunstan, Line Electrician II; Matthew Toves, Line Electrician II; Jordan Aguon, Line Electrician I, discussed their duties and responsibilities as lineworkers to include a demonstration on the proper use of their PPEs and tools.
To wrap-up the GPA presentation, the T&D team led a bucket truck demonstration, showing how to safely ascend and emphasizing teamwork and safe work practices when operating bucket trucks.
The GPA team provided Inalåhan Elementary School students ranging from 3rd through 5th grade with energy-related educational activity books and coloring materials.
