As a part of the 2025 Public Power Week celebration, GPA once again served as a proud sponsor for the Special Olympics Guam (SOGU) 2025 Softball Championship Jamboree for the third consecutive year. The event was held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Dededo Softball Field (Dededo/Harmon Sports Complex).

GPA General Manager John M. Benavente, P.E. delivered remarks during the Opening Ceremony and threw the ceremonial first pitch, setting the stage for the Championship Game. Throughout the games, GPA employees were present to cheer on the athletes and offer encouragement.

Leading up to the event GPA Employees volunteered their time at weekly Saturday practices starting from October 36, 2025, to prepare SOGU athletes for the Championship Jamboree.

This year GPA coached their own team of SOGU athletes, the Megawatts, who powered their way to first place. The team was led to victory by Jamie Pinaula, Customer Service Supervisor, Jarred Alerta, Safety Inspector II, and Patrick Blas, AMI Technician who offered their guidance, leadership, and dedication to the athletes throughout the season.

After the championship game, SOGU athletes from Megawatts were given goodie bags prepared by the GPA Customer Service team.
