Outreach/Event Date: 02/23/2024
Energy Efficiency and Conservation

Guam Power Authority presented to the intermediate students at P.C. Lujan Elementary School on February 23, 2024 to promote energy-efficiency and conservation.

Energy science, especially energy-efficiency and conservation, are key elements of science education standards in K-12 curricula.

The energy-efficiency and conservation presentation was conducted by GPA's SPORD Engineer III, Victor Torres to help students become more aware of how they can save energy, protect their environment, and help sustain the natural resources on our island and earth.

Additionally, in recognition of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Engineer I, Jezreel Sabangan participated in the energy-efficiency and conservation presentation and also shared what inspired her to pursue a career in the Engineering field.

GPA Communications Manager, Joyce Sayama discussed various energy-saving tips with students and highlighted the ongoing Beat the Peak campaign.

The GPA team provided the 4th and 5th grade students with energy-themed Beat-The-Peak origami paper games and GPA fidget spinners.
